Godfrey has managed large and complex claims in-house for several major insurers within The Bahamas since 2002. He has managed both domestic & commercial property losses & contracts inclusive of works claims, products, employer or public liability & motor liability claims.

 

Godfrey began his career in the Bahamian Insurance industry in 2002 serving as a Claims Adjuster at J.S. Johnson Agents & Brokers Ltd., easily the largest & of the more prominent insurance platforms locally. While there, he gained mass underwriting experience & expanded his wealth of knowledge in insurance over a 10 year span. From there, Godfrey went on to  to serve two other major insurance companies at senior levels within the Claims Departments leading to an eventual Sr. Management position with Summit Insurance Company Limited where he served as Manager of Underwriting & Claims.

 

Accomplished, Godfrey obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Bio -Chemistry from The University of the Bahamas & his Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Leicester in the UK. He holds a Post -Graduate degree in Law from The University of London  with  specialization in Insurance Law & is a Fellow & Chartered Insurance Professional specializing in Risk Management with The Insurance Institute of Canada.

 

Bethell is also a Chartered Insurance Professional (Claims) with The Insurance Institute of Canada

& is a Senior Associate (CIP) with The Australian & New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance. He is  a Fellow, Chartered Loss Adjuster with the Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association and a Fellow of The International Federation of Adjusting Associations.
